Our Mission, Our Dream

Introducing Kristina, Igor and Denys. We’d like to share with you a desire that was birthed in us a few years ago upon hearing a powerful testimony by Derek Loux. His story was incredibly moving, and an encouraging charge to me and my husband. He spoke about his family’s incredible opportunity to adopt children from extremely undesirable conditions of poverty and homelessness. He shared how he and his wife spent years loving, caring, and nurturing these children into happy, healthy, well adjusted and healed young adults. We were so moved by his story and thought if the same opportunity ever presented itself to us; we would want to do the same. That chance has presented itself, and we’d like to share our story with you.
Fast forward a year. We meet Jane from the “Ark,” an American living just outside of Kiev, Ukraine. She runs a private rehabilitation center called Father’s Care, a non-profit, non-sectarian humanitarian organization. Since 1999 this incredible ministry has been providing hope and futures to some of the 50,000+ street children in Kiev. Registered with the government of Ukraine, this charitable fund focuses on the restoration of the family. Their mission is to love and care for Kiev’s orphans and then place them from the streets into forever homes. She told us about 3 children, all siblings, who have no chance of reconciliation with their birth parents. Kristina 13, Igor 12, and Denys 10 are longing for a family of their own. They’ve been at the Ark for four years, and their time there will be over soon, as the state only lets them stay for a certain amount of time.
Present day. This summer, a family friend of the Ark made it possible for the three children to come to America with Jane on holiday. They spent two weeks in North Carolina, and then headed to Boca Raton. During their stay, our family spent time getting to know these precious children and they became imprinted on our hearts. We’ve prayed about becoming their forever family and our desire is to adopt each one of them, offering them the chance they deserve, to spend what’s left of their childhood lives together, with a family who loves them.
Needed: One miracle, please. In order for this to happen, it will take nothing short of a miracle! We don’t currently have the financial surplus required to complete the adoption. The cost is approximately $25,000. We’re at the beginning of this process. Already doors are opening, moving us steps closer to the prospect of bringing Kristina, Igor, and Denys home. We’re looking for interested persons who may have the desire and the financial means to help us.
